Pompeii Wall Art
The painting above depicting the fall of Icarus was preserved on a wall in Pompeii--the artist is unknown, as is the date (but it was likely created sometime in the late first century BC or in the first century AD before 79, when Vesuvius erupted and the city was buried).
I am a second-year student in the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Theatre and Drama at Northwestern University. Recent projects include "Old Times" with TheatreFirst in Oakland, CA and "The Sins of Sor Juana" at Northwestern's Theatre and Interpretation Center, directed by Henry Godinez. As a dramaturg and director, I have worked with The Public Theater in New York, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and Magic Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater, The Marsh, and African American Shakespeare Company in San Francisco.
